Thank you, Dad, for being my dad,
For being my father, my mentor, my inspiration, my friend.
Thank you for being the hidden voice in my head, for teaching me work ethic, how to do foreigners, juggle multiple jobs, and not rely on one income.
Thank you for showing me how to plan for the worst, not choose the path of least resistance, not to cut corners and measure twice and cut once... but most of all, thank you for showing me in practice how to appreciate moments in time, that create the memories that span a lifetime.
Thank you, Dad, for being my dad
for being the distant star, simmering brightly, my north,
the compass guiding me down the road less travelled.
Thank you for teaching me how to squirrel away £5 notes, eat today for tomorrow, and focus on the journey, not the destination.
Thank you for showing me how rewarding the "Delete" button can be for you, yet stressful for me.
Thank you for showing me the art of tree felling, replacing transmissions, repairing cracked engine blocks, but most of all, how to start an early morning fire to warm the house for the family while cooking fried bread with the dripping from the bacon, thank you, Dad, for being my dad
you will always be in my thoughts
your son...
